All Things Queer Wisconsin was thoughtfully designed to reflect the queer community which is demonstrated in the color palette which involve colors of the queer flag.
The typography reflects my personal aesthetic preferences, with fonts that I feel resonate with the brand's voice. The name "All Things Queer Wisconsin" serves as a broad, inclusive term that encompasses the variety of experiences and resources available to the queer community—it's truly “in the name.”
To enhance the visual appeal, I incorporated sparkles, which not only add a touch of fun but also serves as a thematic element for an ongoing series. Through this branding approach, I aim to create a welcoming and engaging space for all members of the queer community in Wisconsin.
My content strategy for All Things Queer Wisconsin focuses on sharing queer (and queer-friendly) events happening throughout the state. Initially, I started by sharing posts via Stories, but now, at the beginning of each month, I create an infographic that highlights all the submitted and researched events.
I prioritize providing high-quality content over daily posts, which has resulted in strong audience engagement. My strategy centers on creating unique content that encourages the community to like and share. For instance, during Hispanic Heritage Month, I highlighted queer Hispanic businesses, celebrating underrepresented voices within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Differentiating my account from other LGBTQ+ platforms, I not only celebrate widely recognized months and awareness weeks but also aim to showcase a diverse range of identities, businesses, and entrepreneurs. One notable initiative is my "Queer Gems" series, which ties into the common sentiment of "hidden gems." This series highlights local treasures across Wisconsin, allowing me to showcase businesses, community members, and more.
Much of my content is community-driven, providing a plethora of ideas without the need for daily posting. I also share Stories daily to highlight additional events and relevant topics of interest to the queer community.
